Mindfulness Retraite in Land van Nu in Groningen

The program "High Way to Heaven, Be Free!" Has been developed from the need to reduce the suffering in the body and mind to increase the sense of happiness.

The Buddha has given 3 teachings around 450 years before Christ. This Buddha (The Awakened) was son of a King and was born in the Hindu culture in North India, now Nepal. His name was Gautama Siddhartha and he was greatly compassionate to the suffering of people. He did research from his 28th to his 35th and examined body and mind. He investigated how and with what theory and practice suffering could be reduced. He developed 3 teachings. The first 2 teachings were about the thorough, sustainable, indirect, slow way to reduce suffering. The third teaching was about the accelerated direct way to the reducing of all suffering.

Teaching 1:

The four noble truths:

  • There is suffering.
  • There is a cause of suffering (disruptive thoughts and emotions and Karma).
  • There is a solution from suffering.
  • There is a way to follow from suffering: The eightfolded path:
  • The right insight
  • The right intention
  • The right speech
  • The right action
  • The right way of living
  • The right effort
  • The right attention
  • The right concentration

This is what we initially train in Hinayana (Theravada) Buddhism - the small vehicle as a monk or layman. It takes figuratively 1,000 lives to liberate yourse;f from suffering to literally and figuratively "enlightened state". You work on self-compassion = the desire to reduce your own suffering and increase your happiness.

Teaching 2:

In the second teaching of the Buddha, the following subjects are taught, practiced and realized in body and mind:

  • Interdependence = nothing exists in itself. Everything depends on each other. Karma = cause and effect.
  • Compassion = the desire to reduce suffering in others and to increase happiness. The ego perspective is completely removed here.
  • The Void = the source / potential from which everything is born.
  • The heart Sutra + accompanying Mantra: Emptiness is form and form is emptiness: "The great Letting go". Turning your limited perspective.
  • Disturbing thoughts, emotions and physical pain are reduced and uprooted and the virtues are increased in the mind.

This is what we train in Mayayana Buddhism - the great vehicle as a monk or layman. It takes figuratively 100 lives to liberate you from suffering and literally and figuratively  to the "enlightened state". This is the end of Duality / separateness. You have liberated yourself from the illusion of the "I" and melt together with the source. An independently changeable I is not the right vision, a fixed entity. The right vision is we are all 1 body, 1 universal consciousness, an unchangeable continuum without beginning and without end.

After 15 years of studying and practicing these 2 teachings and having realized in my body and mind, I started on the third teaching of the Buddha 4 years ago: the accelerated direct path to be free from suffering.

Teaching 3:

The Non-Dual state. There is no twoness / duality. There is no me and the other. There is no separateness, no individual energy, only the indescribable, conceptless, timeless universal consciousness - the Nothingness - I AM THAT

History: the first writings " The Upanic" seeds originated in Vedic times, a period of about 1500 BC. to 500 BC. in the history of South Asia in which Hindu religious texts (the Vedas) arose. The Vedas were initially orally transmitted by the bards and priests of tribes who entered the northwest of the Indian Subcontinent at the beginning of the Vedic period and spoke an Indo-Aryan language (Sanskrit). From this, the Advaita Vedante theory of Non-duality is also developed.

The third teaching of the Buddha is about this Non-Duality. With this correct vision / understanding of unity you can free yourself in 1 life or even in 1 second. In the Buddhist way of life, Dzogchen or Mahamoedra the teachings are named, depending on which Buddhist movement is given this lesson.

This teaching consists of 4 Mahamudra tantra yogas, leading to the highest form of meditation, the nonduality, a permanent seal:

1) the yoga of one-pointedness

2) the yoga of non-conceptuality

3) the yoga of 1 taste

4) the yoga of non-meditation

To be able to teach, I first studied the Upanishads and vedas, visited advaita teachers / teachings such as Mooji, Bentinho Massuro and in the Netherlands Arold Langeveld, Paul Smit, Hans Tibben and Guri de Blok. The books of important deceased Indian teachers such as Ramana Maharshi and Sri Nasargadatta Maharaj were awakening.

In my own Buddhist tradition, I was taught for the first time in 2011 by Dzogchen teacher Wangsjock Ninjen Nuntsig and then from the 6th Tibetan teacher Dzogchen Rinponche and studied the books of the deceased Traleg Rinpoche "Mind at Ease".

I developed a program "Highway to Heaven, Be Free" with the following content: physical exercises Yin yoga and Chi Kong and meditational exercises such as stillness, insight and non-dual meditations and the singing of mantras, which brings you into contact with your "actual" self ":Your True Self !. In this state there is no suffering but an indescribably beautiful serene neutral state of "Being". I call this non-dual state the absolute world and the dual state the relative world. These worlds all stem from the indescribable source. I was born in the Universe and connected to the source from which everything comes from. It is my calling to make people realize their real nature that they origan from. In this way, with this insight, with this connectedness with the visible and invisible world, the individual energy and universal energy, I wish that people can lift their great attachment to the dual world and reduce their suffering and escape from the wheel of Samsara, the cycle of being born, aging, illness and death.

The life of the "Middle way" is in my opinion wisdom. With one foot in the dual world of the I, where you feel separate from the whole, experience a lack, try to fill a void and where you continually seek a balance between suffering and happiness. By standing with the other foot in the world of non-form and the "WE" and realizing the relativity that we are an expression / illusion from a limitless consciousness. Through this way of life and this realization there can be tremendous relaxation in the mind and you can awaken from the dream, the illusion that this world of form is. Through this realization and that you come from an open boundless consciousness you are able to make yourself free of limiting thoughts / beliefs, emotional and physical feelings and you can become who you DREAM you could be in this dual world of Form and No form, without fear. You are the source, the projector of your own film on the white screen. It is the awareness of the middle way of the Buddha between me and we, form and form, individual and universal energy that can become a rich indelible permanent experience. An awakened, enlightened state. Not a dot, not a dash but a permanent experience of a serene state.

I wish everyone and all living beings, from a great developed sense of compassion, this permanent state of equanimity, where you live in complete acceptance with yourself and the other, without judgment. That is my calling, my ideal, my wish. I am not a Guru but someone who is servicing and with great care, warmth, love and humour, facilitates you in the way to the insight and experience of being in touch with your true self, your actual teacher, the source, the universe.

Yoga provides a healthy and relaxed body and thus paves the way for a deeper inner soul searching and connection. We investigate and experience our three bodies: the physical body (postures), the energetic / emotional body (feeling) and the mental body (thinking). With power, inspiration and connection as a starting point, you learn to recognize and understand your automatic thinking and behavior patterns through the yoga and mindfulness exercises. This enables you to function more effectively, both at home and at work.

Throughout the retreat you can enjoy walks in nature, get acquainted with inspiring people and you can use the environment for your stillness. In between, delicious vegetarian meals are cooked.

The Yoga and Mindfulness retreat is given by Hans Kloosterman. Below is a review of a participant who participated in a similar retreat in Heerde.

What a beautiful, very intense and especially healing week. With you Hans as a very thorough teacher and coach, the week brought me very close to myself again. Many thanks for the practically applicable practical exercises, the varied program and your loving training to gain more insight into ourselves. Many thanks for your personal attention and advice. It has strengthened my decision that I have to go my way more, which makes me happy. A very successful week that gave me insight and inspires me further on my spiritual path.

Over Guri de Blok

Guri de Blok

From the age of 7 he remembers the first questions about predestination and the wish to visit India. Self-taught he started practicing psychology, yoga and meditation from the age of 13 onwards.

During his studies in physics (HTS) and philosophy (UvA) he was driven by the question about the nature of reality.

He worked as a physicist and also as a yoga teacher. In addition to an international commercial position, he followed a school for orientation of being and became acquainted with Dzogchen.

From 93 to 96 he traveled through Asia and immersed himself in Buddhism and Ad-vaita. There he met his spiritual teacher Sri Poonja and spent about 1 year with him.

After his trip, he built the company Presence and was active as a commercial director with Recruitment, Selection. In 2012 he sold his company and, on request, started giving training courses in His orientation.

He provides evenings on Non-duality that bring visitors to the direct experience of the Self or 'Bhudha nature'.

The trainings and meetings he gives are about the ways of seeing through the ego and resting in your true nature, the unity of love and truth.

When someone comes home in his true nature, there is a recognition and a great joy, it is a feast to be able to be.

About Annemieke de Poel (Masseuse)

Annemiek de Poel

Massaging is my passion because I like to connect to the other in silence. The body has its own pure honest way of communicating and through contact a special exchange can arise.

We can also make better ground through this touch, making it easier to listen to our own body again. By means of massage you get in better contact with yourself and your own needs. You could say that it is my mission to bring people into contact with themselves.

My massages are holistic, I work with techniques from relaxation massage, rebalancing, deep tissue massage and foot reflexology. Where necessary I combine my massages with Reiki.

Menno de GrootMenno de Groot, 31 years old, applied psychologist and lifecoach

In my practice of applied psychologist and life coach, I start from three fundamental questions:

Who am I? What do I want? and What can I do?

Awareness and self-knowledge play a major role in this. Through conversations and self-reflection you gain insight into your thinking patterns and convictions and you become aware of your role in different situations. That awareness then forms the basis for breaking through certain patterns and determining which values you find important and how you can apply them in a harmonious, mindful life.
