From a young age, I was interested in what makes people happy. We had a library at home with books on Greek mythology, Buddhism, Hinduism, the Bible, and Kabbalism, among other subjects. I read all the books and discovered many similarities.

I wanted to explore the world and learn about diverse ways of life. I spent 25 years working in procurement, sales, and human resources as a buyer, procurement manager, sales manager, and ultimately, for 15 years, as the CEO/owner of the recruitment agency RS Recruitment.

At the age of fifty, I sold my company to the employees. I wanted to focus more on the general happiness of people. I had already completed a five-year Hatha yoga and meditation training rooted in Hinduism and had been studying Buddhism for 15 years, including a six-year monk training.

Buddhism falls under positive psychology. The practice of Mindfulness (training awareness in the present moment) in relation to stress reduction is now globally taught and applied in private and corporate settings to promote the well-being of individuals.

The passion and personal necessity to understand human life became greater over time. My mission became to increase happiness and reduce the suffering of people. Teaching and practicing Eastern philosophy and ways of life alone were not enough to transform myself and others into happiness.

I began working with the most widely used Western transformation and trauma methods: Mindfulness, TRE (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises), EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and Systemic work. These are five methods currently applied worldwide.

Growing up with an alcoholic and tyrannical father with traits of narcissistic and borderline personality disorders, I regularly needed external help from therapists, psychologists, and spiritual teachers.

Feelings of not being good enough, fear of rejection, and a sense of unworthiness had many layers, manifesting in people-pleasing behavior, overcompensation for feelings of inferiority, and escaping into spirituality. My life was marked by many ups and downs.

Now, as an expert in stress, burnout, light and severe trauma, depression, PTSD, addiction, narcissistic abuse, and having undergone extensive therapy myself, I have achieved a permanent state of peace and happiness. I guide people on their life paths without trying to save them.

With great love, I now guide people through pain towards happiness. No mud, no lotus. I do this through writing my books, conducting training sessions, workshops, yoga, retreats, and one-on-one or couples' relationship coaching.

My calling in life: "Transforming trauma and limiting family, thought, emotion, behavior, and communication patterns."

My new book "Wat is geluk?"

Hans Kloosterman

Wat is geluk?

This book is written to increase your self-awareness and happiness through self-exploration. It is a composite of personal stories, stories from others, poems, and quotes that the author found valuable in his own exploration of suffering and happiness. It is a journey of consciousness and discovery within yourself. What family, thought, emotion, behavior, and communication patterns inhibit or energize you? You read specific texts, engage in fill-in exercises, and practice transformation/redirecting methods. In this way, you learn to diminish your own suffering and enhance your happiness. Who doesn't want to be happy? You learn to take responsibility and control over your life. You are the producer, director, and actor/actress in your own life film.
